Freshwater Pearls

Chinese Freshwater Pearls are heavily enhanced with bleach, dye or polish.  These pearls are treated with natural or aniline dyes, silver nitrate, hydrogen sulfate, metallic, cobalt, or silver salts and will NOT revert back in color. Dyed pearls can also be treated with extreme bright lighting to enhance coloring. All methods of treatment are labor intensive, but the freshwater pearl is one of the best and most inexpensive pearls to be ever be produced with little or no nucleus.  The price and supply has been difficult of late, particularly coin, Keshi, stick, and any good quality small (5mm) or smaller.
